A sensible alternative to purchasing a vehicle

Owning one's mode of transport carries a certain sense of pride, as much as ownership of one's home. Holding title to property gives one an undeniable feeling of accomplishment and success in this material world. The responsibility that goes along with ownership is the burden that tends to take some of the shine off the crown, in a manner of speaking.

Perhaps this is the reason why many choose the path of car leasing, and van leasing for business, as an alternative to bearing the mantle of entitlement. A contract for hire vis-a-vis a contract to purchase does indeed have certain advantages, not the least of which being letting the other fellow worry about the upkeep of a vehicle.

What may be attractive as well to one who is in the market for a new or near new vehicle are the financing and opt back choices that are often part of a leasing agreement. The only option one has when having purchased a vehicle as it nears the end of its usefulness is to hang a placard on it and start shopping once again.

Consider, as an example, that a nice little car which makes the most of a litre of petrol is what is needed by an individual shopper. Enter the 2009 Hyundai Amica Hatchback at 135 per month, with an up-front payment the equivalent of a 3-month sum. This particular offer did not include maintenance or VAT, yet were made available along with funding and insurance options.

Vans and trucks are also widely offered, especially geared toward the business which requires a fleet of such vehicles, as van leasing generally is as opposed to car leasing. Yet again, many businesses do in fact utilise a fleet of cars as well to service their clients, and many do take advantage of substantially reduced lease terms that often include maintenance and opt back programs.

One broker who specialises in van leasing offers a Vauxhall Movano, quite the workhorse in the cartage industry, for £279 per month with a generous opt back option. That's the sort of price that would make any businessman take notice.

Contract for hire may not be suitable or desirable to some who are looking for a new vehicle. That sense of pride in ownership is quite the motivation to be reckoned with. However, the alternative of letting the leasing agency bother with maintenance may just be the ticket for the shopper in this marketplace.
